Canon PowerShot SD1400IS 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Pink)

Excellent Choice - Excellent Performance
Having stupidly put my previous Casio EXLM 5.1 megapixels (wow!) in my back pocket and then sitting on it and ruining the LCD display, it was time to get a new camera. I had really wanted to keep one feature that I loved - optical, see-through view finder. But I couldn't find a model with all the other features I wanted, so I decided to sacrifice the optical view finder and go with the Canon PowerShot SD1400IS.

Then of course, stupid me drops the new camera five feet to a hard wood floor the first time I held it in my hands. No problem - the little baby wasn't the slightest bit fazed! Not even a scratch.

Pictures taken on auto-mode are excellent! Shots that would have been blurry on the old Casio turn out great. And using the other various manual modes is so easy even my wife can do it! And the HD quality movie mode is awesome to see on an HD TV.

Because our two young granddaughters are into pink - we bought the flaming pink model! We love this camera!

Love It!
I am definitely satisfied with my decision to purchase this camera. It does everything I wanted. It's lightweight, takes clear pictures, the zoom's great, and it has plenty of fun effects. I love playing with it. :]

It's OK
I had the SD1100IS that lasted me a few years and recently broke. I got this SD1400IS and don't like it as much as the SD1100IS. It is nice that you can edit the videos straight from the camera, but the zoom button is quite hard to use. This camera just seems a bit more difficult to use and the zoom button is tiny.

I love the camera
This is my second Cannon and I love the product. Takes wonderful photos, the zoom does a nice job. I only wish it had a viewfinder. When the sun is really bright it is difficult to see the screen sometimes.

Excellent product, loaded with features!!
This is our THIRD Canon Powershot. We had the first generation Powershot and it took a beating. It was dropped, bumped, dented, you name it. Kept on working. It finally broke (the switch between movie/video/playback snapped) when it hit a tile floor from about 4 feet up. I had just purchased our second one for myself and I purchased this one for my wife to replace her broken Powershot.
We have found that these cameras are loaded with features (such as color selecting that allows for a b/w photo with a splash of color from certain objects in the picture), excellent video quality, long battery life and obviously GREAT pictures. It is easy to use, and once you can navigate the menus (takes a few uses to figure this part out) the features are many. The ONE caveat for this camera is to get a memory card that is HD and has a LOT of memory on it. The HD video uses a lot of space (although it has gotten more efficient in the newest models). This is a GREAT camera that we will continue to buy for years.
